Product bags

What Are Product Bags?

Product bags hold the product itself, rather than the shopping bag a customer carries out of a store. We offer three kinds: zip lock bags, resealable plastic bags with a zip closure for apparel, accessories and small items, and drawstring bags, soft bags that close with a pull cord, for gifts, sports gear and small items, and PVC bags, clear plastic bags that show the product inside. All three are printed with your brand, and all store flat until you fill them.

Buyers include food and snack brands, cosmetic and bath product sellers, craft and hardware shops, jewelry and accessory brands, gyms and teams, and anyone who puts a bag in a gift set or an event favor. If you need handles for carrying purchases, see carrier bags.

How to Choose a Product Bag

  • Zip lock bags

A press-to-close zip opens and shuts many times. Choose a clear bag to show the product or a printed opaque bag to hide it. A flat base lets some bags stand, and a hang hole lets them hang on a peg.

  • Drawstring bags

Soft bags with a cord, in fabrics such as cotton, satin, velvet and non-woven (ask what is possible for your brand and budget). Customers tend to keep them, so they work as a small gift in themselves.

  • PVC bags

Clear PVC plastic bags that show the product inside, made as tote bags, pouches and zip bags. Choose them when the customer should see what is in the bag, or when the bag will be reused and wiped clean.

  • Need a bag that stands on a shelf?

A stand-up pouch sits upright like a small box, with a zip, a window or a hang hole as options.

  • Need a bag for shipping?

Mailer bags carry online orders to customers, and mailer boxes protect them better.

What to Tell Us for a Quote

The more of this you send, the closer our first quote will be to the final price. If you are not sure about something, say so and we will help you decide.

  • Size. Measure the product with its own wrapper, and add room at the top (zip lock) or so it slides in easily (drawstring).
  • Quantity. Tell us how many you need now, and how many you might reorder.
  • Weight. A bag that holds heavy items needs stronger material, so tell us what the product weighs.
  • Print. Send your logo and artwork (up to 5 files of 20 MB each) and your colors as Pantone or CMYK values. We offer free design support and a proof before production.
  • Delivery location. We reply within 1 business day, and quotes include shipping within the United States and Canada. Free design support is included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between zip lock bags and drawstring bags?

A zip lock bag is a resealable plastic bag that suits small items you want to keep clean and sealed. A drawstring bag is a soft bag that closes with a cord, and customers often keep it and reuse it. See the zip lock bags and drawstring bags pages.

What can I pack in custom product bags?

Zip lock bags suit apparel, accessories and small items, and food and snack, bath product, craft and hardware sellers use them. Drawstring bags suit gifts, sports gear, jewelry and small items. PVC bags suit apparel, cosmetics, gifts and retail items you want customers to see. Tell us your product and we confirm which bag fits.

How much do custom product bags cost?

Most product pages show a starting price per unit, and the others are quoted on request. The price depends on quantity, size, material, printing and finishes, and it drops as quantity grows. Your quote gives the final price, and it includes shipping.

What is the minimum order quantity for product bags?

Minimums across our range are 50, 100 or 500 units depending on the product. We confirm the minimum for your bags in your quote.

How long does it take to get custom product bags?

Production usually takes 5–7 working days, and 16–21 working days for larger orders. It starts once your artwork is approved and payment is received. Delivery usually takes another 4–5 working days, depending on the carrier and your location, so a typical order arrives in about 2 weeks and larger orders take longer. See the turnaround guide.

Can I try a sample before I order?

Yes. The Standard Sample Kit is $50 with shipping included, and the Samples page lists the other sample types. Test a sample with your real product, and try the zip or the cord, before you commit to a full order.
