What to Look for in Cup Carriers

A cup carrier is a small structure that has to hold hot drinks safely, so strength and fit are the main points.

  • Number of cups. Two, four or six cups need different layouts and different board strength. Decide the usual order size.
  • Cup size. Measure the base and the top of your cups, since the holes depend on both. A carrier made for one cup size may let another one tip or slide through.
  • Strength. A carrier with full drinks is heavy and wet. Ask about board and design if your drinks are large or hot.
  • Handle or tray. A handle makes carrying easy but needs more strength. A flat tray is easier to stack and store.
  • Flat or assembled. Think about whether your staff can assemble a carrier fast in a rush, and how much counter room it needs.

Where Cup Carriers Are Used

  • Coffee shops selling several drinks per order.
  • Drive-through restaurants where drinks go into a car cup holder.
  • Offices and events with catering that includes hot drinks.
  • Bubble tea and juice shops that sell several large cups at once.

Artwork and Printing Tips for Cup Carriers

  • The outer panels are what the customer sees while carrying. Put the logo on the side or the handle panel, where it faces out.
  • Keep your design simple and bold, because it is seen from a distance and in motion.
  • Keep the print away from the cut-outs and folds, where the board bends or is cut.
  • Use a light brand color carefully on a brown board, because the color turns darker. Check a proof.
  • We place your artwork on the layout for approval, so you see where the cup holes fall before production.

Planning Your Order

Gather your cups and measure the base and top diameter, and note the height. Decide how many cups the carrier must hold, and check how the assembled carrier fits through your service window and into a car.

Test a sample with full cups. A Standard Sample Kit is $50 with shipping included. The Samples page shows the other options, and your quote confirms pricing and minimums.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order custom cup carriers?

Send your size, quantity, delivery location and artwork with a quote request. We prepare pricing based on the size, material, printing, finishing and quantity, and reply within 1 business day. After you approve the layout and artwork, the order goes into production.

How much do custom cup carriers cost?

Pricing depends on the size, quantity, material, printing and finishes. Request a quote and we will prepare pricing for your project.

How long does it take to get custom cup carriers?

Timing depends on the product, the size and the quantity, and it is confirmed with your quote. Production starts once your artwork is approved and payment is received. Delivery usually takes another 4–5 working days, depending on the carrier and your location, so a typical order arrives in about 2 weeks and larger orders take longer. See the turnaround guide.

How many cups can a cup carrier hold?

That is a design choice. Tell us how many cups, their sizes and how heavy the full carrier will be, and we confirm what is possible with your quote.

Does one carrier fit different cup sizes?

Only if the sizes are close, so tell us all the sizes you use. We confirm whether one design suits them, or whether you need more than one.

Can a cup carrier hold hot drinks?

Tell us what drinks you serve and how far they travel, and we confirm the options with your quote.

Is a cup carrier different from a cup holder?

Yes. A carrier holds several cups together, while a cup holder wraps a single cup. Many cafes use both.
