What to Look for in Coffee Cups
A coffee cup is handled all day, so how it holds heat, fits a lid and feels in the hand decide whether customers like it.
- Size. Match your menu: a small cup for espresso drinks, a medium for most orders and a large for lattes. Decide how many sizes you need, and keep the lid fit in mind.
- Single wall or double wall. A single wall cup is lighter, and a double wall holds heat better and is cooler to touch. A sleeve is another option. Ask what is possible for your project.
- Lid fit. A cup and a lid made for each other seal better. Order them together or tell us the lid you already use.
- Hot or cold drinks. Cold drinks sweat and weaken the outside, so tell us what you serve.
- Inner lining. The inside of a paper cup needs a barrier against liquid. Ask what is possible and tell us if the drink is acidic or sits for a long time.
Where Coffee Cups Are Used
- Coffee shops and cafes where the cup is the daily brand contact.
- Offices and hotels with branded drinks for staff and guests.
- Events, trade shows and weddings that serve hot drinks.
- Bakeries and restaurants selling coffee to go.
Artwork and Printing Tips for Coffee Cups
- A cup is a curved, tapered surface, so artwork is wrapped around it. Put the logo where the customer sees it while holding the cup, not where their hand hides it.
- Keep a gap at the seam, because the two sides meet there and a logo that crosses it can look misaligned.
- Leave clear space near the rim and the base, where the print can be trimmed or the cup folds.
- Dark and bold colors look rich but show fingerprints and spots. Check the proof carefully if your colors matter.
- Tell us about colors as Pantone references or CMYK values, and we confirm how they are matched. Ask about matte or glossy finishes only if they suit your cup.
Planning Your Order
List the drink sizes you sell and the lids you use now. Decide whether you need a sleeve or a carrier as well, and how many cups you use in a week, since cups take storage room.
Try a sample with a real hot drink to check the grip and the lid. The Standard Sample Kit costs $50 with shipping included, and other sample types are listed on the Samples page. Pricing and minimums come with your quote.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I order custom coffee cups?
Send your size, quantity, delivery location and artwork with a quote request. We prepare pricing based on the size, material, printing, finishing and quantity, and reply within 1 business day. After you approve the layout and artwork, the order goes into production.
How much do custom coffee cups cost?
Pricing depends on the size, quantity, material, printing and finishes. Request a quote and we will prepare pricing for your project.
How long does it take to get custom coffee cups?
Timing depends on the product, the size and the quantity, and it is confirmed with your quote. Production starts once your artwork is approved and payment is received. Delivery usually takes another 4–5 working days, depending on the carrier and your location, so a typical order arrives in about 2 weeks and larger orders take longer. See the turnaround guide.
What cup size should I order?
Match the sizes on your menu, and tell us the volume of each. If you already have lids, tell us the lid type so the cup and lid fit together.
Should I choose a single wall or a double wall cup?
Single wall cups are lighter, and double wall cups hold heat and feel cooler in the hand. A sleeve can add comfort to a single wall cup. We confirm the options available for your project.
Do coffee cups come with lids?
Tell us if you need lids, and we confirm what we can supply. See our cup lids page for more.
Where does the logo go on a coffee cup?
On the part facing the customer when the cup is held, away from the seam and from the area where a hand sits. Keep text a little away from the rim and the base, where the cup curves.
