Which product box should I choose?

Start with how your product is sold and shipped.

  • Selling on a store shelf

Tuck boxes suit cosmetics, electronics and retail goods. Display boxes put your product front and center, from store shelves to trade shows.

  • Lightweight products

Both are made for lightweight items, such as spices, sauces and beauty products.

  • Shipping to customers or subscription boxes

Mailer boxes are designed for shipping, subscription boxes, gifts and retail presentation. For more stacking strength, see the corrugated boxes page.

  • A premium gift box

Rigid boxes are made for high-end products. A tray and sleeve box gives a slide-open unboxing experience.

  • Lower shipping cost for the empty boxes

A foldable two piece box ships flat, which cuts shipping costs.

  • A box your customer can carry

A gable box has a peaked roof and a carry handle, and combines the benefits of a box and a bag.

  • An unusual shape

Choose a hexagonal, triangular, round, heart-shaped or other shape. We confirm what is possible with your quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are custom product boxes?

Custom product boxes are the boxes your product is sold or shipped in, made to fit it and printed with your brand. We make them in many box types, from paperboard cartons to rigid gift boxes and corrugated mailers.

Which box type is best for my product?

It depends on how the product is sold and shipped. Tuck, pillow and display boxes suit lightweight retail items, mailer boxes suit shipping and subscriptions, and rigid boxes suit high-end products and gifts. The guide above matches common needs to a box type, and we will confirm the best fit when you request a quote.

What is the minimum order quantity for custom product boxes?

Each box type has its own minimum. Rigid boxes start from 50 units, and tuck, mailer, pillow, display, tray and sleeve, gable and foldable two piece boxes start from 100 units. Minimums for other box types are confirmed with your quote.

How much do custom product boxes cost?

Each box type page shows a starting price per unit. The final price depends on the size, quantity, material, printing and finishes, and quotes include shipping. Request a quote and we will prepare pricing for your project.

What is the difference between a folding carton and a corrugated box?

A folding carton is made from a single layer of paperboard, which suits lightweight retail items. A corrugated box has a fluted layer between two liners, which gives the strength needed for shipping. See folding cartons and corrugated boxes.

How long does it take to get custom product boxes?

Production usually takes 5–7 working days, and 16–21 working days for larger orders. It starts once your artwork is approved and payment is received. Delivery usually takes another 4–5 working days, depending on the carrier and your location, so a typical order arrives in about 2 weeks and larger orders take longer. See the turnaround guide.
