How Pricing Works
How is the price of custom packaging worked out?
Custom packaging is made to order, so there is no single fixed price. Every product page shows a starting price per unit, and your final price comes with your quote. Here is what drives the number and how to keep it where you want it.
What affects the price
- Size: a bigger box uses more board and more ink.
- Quantity: the price per unit falls as the quantity grows.
- Material: the board or paper you choose.
- Printing: how many colors and which color system, and whether it is printed outside, inside or both.
- Finishes: coatings and extras such as foil stamping, embossing/debossing, spot UV or a window.
Orders usually cost less per unit at higher quantities, because the setup for your order is spread across more boxes.
Choices that move the price
- Printing: CMYK is the most common and budget-friendly color scheme. Pantone prints exact brand colors and is the more luxurious option.
- Coating: varnish is a budget-friendly water-based coating. Lamination protects more and costs more.
- Material: white board prints in full color, while brown kraft is best suited to black or white printing.
- Finishes: matte, glossy, satin and soft touch change how the box feels. Special finishes such as foil stamping, embossing/debossing and spot UV can change the price, so mention them in your request.

Starting prices
Product pages show a starting price per unit ("from $X"). That is the lowest starting point for that product, not a fixed price. It depends on quantity, size, material, printing and finishes, and your final price comes with your quote.
What a quote includes
Your quote includes shipping, and free design support is included. Prices do not include taxes, import duties or remote area surcharges. Outside the United States and Canada, the shipping cost is shown in your quote. See the shipping policy.
How to keep the price down
- Ask for a quote at more than one quantity and compare the price per unit.
- Start with the standard options: CMYK printing and varnish, then add upgrades only where they matter.
- Choose a standard box style and let us suggest a size that fits your product well.
- Use our free dieline templates so the layout is right the first time.
Requesting and paying
No payment is needed to request a quote. After you approve it, we send an invoice or payment link (PayPal is accepted), or bank transfer details. See how ordering works.
Samples
The cost of a sample is credited toward a qualifying order. See minimum order quantities and the samples page for the exact credit. The $50 Standard Sample Kit fee is not credited toward an order.
