When to Choose Round Boxes

A round box has a circular base and curved sides, which makes it the natural pack for cylindrical products: candles, jars, tins, tea and cosmetics. There is no wasted corner space, so the product sits close to the wall and the box looks purpose-made. It also gives you one unbroken surface, so a design can wrap all the way around without a single seam in the artwork.

Choose a round box over a hexagonal or octagonal one when you want that continuous wrap and the cleanest curve, and over a square box when the product is round. Choose a polygon shape instead when you want flat faces for foil, embossing or a window. If you need a plain tube with no extra details, look at cardboard tubes. Round boxes roll, and they do not tile in a carton, so ask about display and shipping.

What to Look for in Round Boxes

  • Diameter and height. Give the diameter of the widest point of the product, and its height, including any lid or cap.
  • Construction. A round box is usually a wrapped wall with a base and a lid. Ask how the wall, the base and the lid are made, and how the overlap is hidden.
  • Lid fit. A lid that is too loose slips off, and one that is too tight is hard to remove. Ask about the fit.
  • Seam position. The wall has a joint somewhere. Ask where it falls, and keep your logo clear of it.
  • Rolling and shipping. Round boxes roll on a shelf and leave gaps in a carton. Plan how they are displayed and packed.

Where Round Boxes Are Used

  • Candles. The classic round pack for a jar or a tin.
  • Tea and coffee. Loose leaf and gourmet gifts.
  • Cosmetics and skincare. Creams, balms and powders.
  • Gifts and chocolates. Round presentation boxes.
  • Hats and accessories. Round boxes for bulky soft goods.

Artwork and Printing Tips

  • Design the wall as a long band that wraps around. Make the two ends meet where the joint is, and keep text away from that spot.
  • Put the logo on the front and repeat it, or a pattern, around the wall so the box looks right from any side.
  • Keep text large and horizontal. Small text curves away from the viewer.
  • Treat the lid as a separate surface: a circle that suits a logo or a seal.
  • Use our free round box dieline template to plan the sizes and the artwork. The final dieline is confirmed with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are round boxes?

A round box has a circular base and curved sides, the classic shape for cylindrical products.

How do I order custom round boxes?

Send your size, quantity, delivery location and artwork with a quote request. We prepare pricing based on the size, material, printing, finishing and quantity, and reply within 1 business day. After you approve the layout and artwork, the order goes into production.

How much do custom round boxes cost?

Pricing starts from $0.50 per unit, and prices and quotes include shipping. Your price depends on quantity, size, material, printing and finishes, and falls as quantity grows. Request a quote for your project.

How long does it take to get custom round boxes?

Timing depends on the product, the size and the quantity, and it is confirmed with your quote. Production starts once your artwork is approved and payment is received. Delivery usually takes another 4–5 working days, depending on the carrier and your location, so a typical order arrives in about 2 weeks and larger orders take longer. See the turnaround guide.

What size information does a round box need?

Tell us the diameter of the widest part of the product and its height, including any lid. We confirm the box size with your quote.

Can a round box wrap print all the way around?

Yes, the wall can carry a continuous design. There is a joint somewhere on the wall, so keep your logo and text clear of it and we confirm where it falls.

Do round boxes roll off a shelf?

A round box can roll if it lies on its side, so display it standing on its base. Tell us how your shop or your customers will handle it, and we advise on the lid and the packing.
